Where to stay during a spa cure in Vichy

A spa cure covered by French health insurance involves 18 days of treatment, which means three weeks on site. Your accommodation therefore matters as much as the treatments: it should be close to the Thermes, quiet and practical for everyday life.

The Thermes de Vichy in brief

Vichy treats two main conditions: rheumatology (osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, recovery after surgery) and the digestive system. The two can be combined as a dual treatment. Treatments take place at the Thermes Callou and the Thermes les Dômes, in the spa quarter. In 2026, the Thermes Callou were open from 16 February to 14 November, and Les Dômes from 18 May to 12 December.

Vichy's waters are sodium bicarbonate waters. Five springs are used for the drinking cure, from the Célestins spring (22 °C) to the Chomel spring (43 °C), most of them in the Hall des Sources.

Choosing the right accommodation

• Walking distance. Treatments take place in the morning. Accommodation less than ten minutes' walk from the Thermes saves using the car and finding parking.
• A proper kitchen. Over three weeks, being able to cook makes all the difference, especially on a digestive cure.
• Peace and quiet. You come back tired from treatments: a residential street is better than a busy road.
• Linen and cleaning. Sheets and towels provided means less luggage.
• A lift or the ground floor, if you have difficulty walking.

Our spa quarter is home to most of our apartments suited to a spa cure, a few minutes from the Thermes and the Parc des Sources. The Résidence Serbie and the Résidence Jaurès offer air-conditioned apartments, much appreciated in summer. The Résidence Desroziers, avenue Victoria, is well suited to guests on a cure on their own.
